For a universal definition of steelglass, please refer to www.stahlglas.net. Here a brief definition: STEELGLASS consists of laminated glass panes, steel reinforcement, pane connectors that connect the glass panes with the steel reinforcement elements, and finally, structure-specific connective elements.
Where does STEELGLASS come from?
Steelglass as a building material and a range of different steelglass structures were developed at the Institute for Structural Analysis and Steel Structures at the Technische Universität Hamburg-Harburg in cooperation with various partners. The components steel and glass are commercially available, however they are subject to specific quality controls.
